Chris Pratt is learning that being “one of the biggest stars in the world right now” doesn’t mean the average New Yorker is going to recognize you. The “Jurassic World” and “Guardians of the Galaxy” star plays “For a Dollar” with Billy Eichner in this week’s “Billy on the Street.”
All the ambushed contestants have to do is recognize Pratt and say his name. It’s a lot tougher than it sounds. And hilarious.
Hopefully the “Parks and Recreation” star has a thick skin, because not too many people in the video tease recognize him. The “Billy on the Street” episode airs at 9:30 p.m. Oct. 15 on truTV.
Their guesses range from confusing him with Chris Evans, who plays Captain America in the Marvel films, to someone named Liam. Hemsworth, perhaps? Although Liam’s brother, Chris Hemsworth, is the one in the Marvel films playing Thor.
One man agrees with Eichner that Pratt looks bright. “Helluva looking guy,” he says. “Yeah, he’s a good-looking guy.”
When Eichner asks who Pratt is, the man says, “[Bleep] if I know.”
Another guy thinks Pratt is “from VH1.” Eichner’s not having any of it, yelling at the pop-culture clueless and storming off to find another victim.
Eichner finally find a woman who recognizes Pratt, but her follow-up comment disappoints him.“I like your wife,” she says—but she doesn’t know that Anna Faris is the star of “Mom” on CBS.
Better luck next time Chris—and Billy.
